What is UPPSC
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission -Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), is the state agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level appointments to the various Civil Services of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The UPPSC notification also lists the age relaxation for different categories/posts in the exam eligibility:

UPPSC Qualification
The educational qualification for the PCS exam is:
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University or equivalent qualification
UPPSC Selection Process:-
There are three stages in the UPPSC UPPCS selection process. The candidate needs to qualify for each exam stage to get promoted to the next stage. Each stage is different and the category-wise UPPSC result and the cut-off is released separately for each stage. The candidates need to breach the cutoff decided by the commission for each stage of the exam to become eligible to appear in the next stage. The three stages of the UPPSC selections process are :
- UPPCS Prelims exam
- UPPCS Main (written) exam
- UPPSC interview
UPPSC UPPSC Prelims exam–Stage I
The UPPSC Prelims exam is the first stage of the UPPSC UPPCS exam. The UPPCS Prelims exam is an objective type exam conducted offline across the state. The UPPCS Prelims exam is a screening exam and the marks secured in the UPPCS Prelims exam are not considered for the final merit. The candidates need to qualify only in the UPPSC prelims exam. The

UPPSC UPPCS Main Exam–Stage II
The candidates need to fill out the Detailed Application Form for the UPPCS main exam. In the UPPCS main DAF, the candidates need to provide service preferences and also their optional subjects. Both the information cannot be changed once the DAF is accepted by the Commission.
The UPPCS main exam is the most important stage of the whole exam process. The UPPSC UPPCS main exam is a conventional essay-type exam conducted offline across the state at one or two exam centres only. The UPPSC recently added Ghaziabad as the second exam centre for the UPPCS main exam because of the coronavirus pandemic. The UPPSC main exam has the following exam pattern.
